Keeps the legs from scissoring
For users with increased adductor tone, the upper legs press together and cross — uncomfortable, hard to manage in daily care, and it pulls the pelvis out of alignment. The Abduction Positioning sits between the thighs and holds them in a neutral, symmetrical stance.
- Corrects adduction (scissoring) of the upper legs
- Maintains a neutral, symmetrical leg position
- Improves pelvic alignment and sitting balance
- Eases access for hygiene, catheter care and dressing
Stays put, comes off fast
A grip print on the underside stops the aid sliding around on the seat, so it stays where the therapist placed it instead of drifting through the day. Side release buckles secure it firmly but open in one click for transfers.
- Anti-slip grip print — no sliding on the seat cushion
- Side release buckles for secure mounting and quick removal
- Stretchable material follows movement without rigid pressure
- Rounded webbings, trim strip, water-repellent

Fitting
An abduction aid should guide the legs apart, never force them. Excessive abduction loads the hip joints — a real concern in users with hip dysplasia or subluxation. Assessment by an occupational therapist or physiotherapist is recommended, and best results come when it’s combined with a hip belt so the pelvis is stable first.
- Fitting assessed by a qualified therapist
- Caution with hip dysplasia or subluxation — seek medical advice
- Works best combined with a hip belt
