Important: never use a foot harness on its own. A foot harness must always be combined with a hip harness or a chest harness. If the feet are secured while the upper body is not, the user can slide forward in the seat while the feet stay fixed — which loads the knees and hips and can cause injury. Secure the body first, the feet last.

Foot harness hook and loop
The harness holds the foot in a neutral position on the footplate, so the ankle stays supported and the knee and hip can settle into a functional sitting angle. The soft neoprene padding spreads pressure across a wide surface rather than a narrow strap line, protecting the skin over the ankle bones during long periods of sitting. Many children also respond well to the even, gentle compression, which gives proprioceptive feedback — a steady sense of where the foot is — and can settle restless kicking over the course of a session.
Made for everyday use
The harness fits the standard footplates found on most wheelchairs, activity chairs and adapted school chairs, so the same familiar solution can follow the child from the classroom to the dining table to home. User fitting takes seconds and needs no tools, which matters when a teacher, a support assistant, a parent and a respite carer all handle it in the same week. The harness is machine washable for everyday hygiene in shared settings. Hook-and-loop buckle
The simplest closure there is. Wrap the strap around, press it down, and it holds. No buckle to line up, no clicking, no lever – just press to close and peel to open.
There are no fixed positions, so the strap can be set exactly where it’s needed, whether the user is in thin summer shoes or thick winter boots. That flexibility also makes it forgiving on a swollen ankle or a foot that changes through the day.
