H-Shaped Chest Harness
Children with low tone or sudden involuntary movement often lose the upright trunk position within minutes of sitting. The H-shaped design supports the chest and shoulders symmetrically, holding the upper body in midline — the balanced position occupational therapists work towards. An upright trunk gives the lungs room and supports a safer position for eating, while the arms are released for reaching, mealtimes, play and communication.
- Supports the trunk in an upright, midline position
- Counteracts forward collapse and leaning to one side
- Frees the arms and hands for everyday activities
- Neoprene padding spreads pressure across chest and shoulders
Built for daily use
Reinforced stitching at the load points, hard-wearing webbing and neoprene that keeps its cushioning wash after wash. The harness mounts to strap mount cam buckles on the chair — separate fittings, not part of the harness, which can be retrofitted where they are missing. Adjustable to accommodate growth and changing needs.
- Made to withstand repeated daily handling
- Wipe-clean and machine washable for shared settings
- Mounts to strap mount cam buckles on the chair
Adjusts as the child grows
Magnetic quick lock at the shoulder
The magnetic quick lock makes the H-harness fast to get on and off for helpers. Drop the front part onto the bottom part and the magnet pulls the two together and locks them – no aiming, no threading straps over the shoulder. A pull on the attached string releases them again.
The lock sits above the shoulder, where a helper can reach it easily – no leaning across the chair or fumbling behind the back. An extra adjustable strap at the shoulder lets you fine-tune the fit and set the harness height precisely for the individual.
- Closes by itself — just drop the front part onto the bottom part
- Released with a light pull on the string
- Positioned above the shoulder for easy reach, standing or seated
- Extra adjustable strap for precise shoulder positioning
- Easy to open with arthritis, stiff joints or weak grip
- Quick and simple for carers, school staff and family
