Hip Harness plastic teeth buckle
The pelvis is the foundation of every seated position. If it slides forward or tilts to one side, the trunk, shoulders and head follow, and the child spends energy correcting posture instead of eating, learning or playing. The hip harness holds the pelvis back and level in the seat, preventing the forward sliding therapists call submarining. Wide neoprene panels spread the load rather than concentrating it on the hip bones.
- Holds the pelvis back and level in the seat
- Prevents forward sliding during long sessions
- A stable centre gives the arms and hands better control
- Neoprene padding reduces pressure points on the hip bones
Built for daily use
Reinforced stitching at the load points, hard-wearing webbing and neoprene that keeps its cushioning wash after wash. The harness mounts to strap mount cam buckles on the chair — separate fittings, not part of the harness, which can be retrofitted where they are missing. Adjustable as the child grows.
- Made to withstand repeated daily handling
- Wipe-clean and machine washable for shared settings
- Mounts to strap mount cam buckles on the chair
- Adjusts to changing needs over time
Hip Harness Ratchet buckle with plastic teeth
The ratchet buckle works like the closure on a snowboard boot, and it makes tightening the harness precise and easy for users and helpers alike. Pull the lever and the belt tightens one click at a time, so you can feel exactly how snug it is instead of guessing. To release, press the small catch inside the lever and pull the belt away from the user.
There’s a release buckle on each strap, so the harness can be opened from whichever side is easiest to reach — useful when the chair is against a wall or the helper is working from one side.
- Click-by-click tightening — set the tension exactly, every time
- Opens from either side, whichever is easiest to reach
- Lever needs a whole-hand pull, not a fine pinch grip
- Holds its setting; no slipping loose during the day
- Familiar snowboard-style action — simple for carers and school staff
