Beinta and her Benecykl

My name is Beinta, I am 20 years old and born with severe CP.
I am very happy to get out and get some wind in my hair, which can be a challenge in a regular wheelchair, as mine is at least very heavy. A walk in the woods or on the beach therefore quickly becomes a sweaty affair for my helper. An ordinary wheelchair is simply primarily designed to drive on level ground such as asphalt.
Now I have bought myself a Benecykl and get much further around. Together with my helper and my friend, we take i.a. on Geocaching all the places where it was previously impossible to get there. I love that we can get out in the woods, to the beach as well as on discovery all around.
A physical disability like mine will always be limiting, but right now I am actually considering Hærvejen or Camino de Santiago, because the Benecyklen is light and easy to maneuver, which opens up far more possibilities than before.

I’m not claiming to be an athlete, but it’s damn close
